Thanks for all your support! Since our first fundraising newsletter some weeks ago we have been able to bring increased positive change to the lives of a number of families through your generosity and our hard work. I would like to thank you for your prayer support and those of you who have made a donation, bless you, you share in all we do!
I would like to briefly mention some of the things you have helped us to achieve so far: A water well is under construction for a family in Surkhet in the mid western development region of Nepal. They were without their daily rationed supply of water for 3 months last summer, one single donation of £565 has provided this family with their very own fresh supply of safe water.
Above: The well shaft being dug by hand and to the right, the spoil heap so far.
Many will recall our urgent txt about a seriously sick mother and her even more seriously sick baby boy… well we were able to fly mother and baby to Kathmandu to receive urgent medical treatment, the father was also able to go along giving his much needed support and love, he wept when he received the offer of our help, knowing without it the outcome looked unimaginably dire. Mother is improving and Baby too but continues to need your prayers and our financial support for ongoing treatment, baby has enlarged kidneys, a full diagnosis is not possible until he’s 3 months old, which will be in another few weeks.
Do you recall the family living close to Kathmandu who suffered a huge blow to their chicken farm business when they lost around 250 chicks. They could not provide them sufficient shelter during an unseasonably severe cold spell, well, without your support they would have lost everything but together we helped them cover their loss and have enough to make a small profit from the sale of the remaining birds, not enough to reinvest but without your financial support their loss would have been devastating. We need to help them prepare and invest so they can become self supporting.
An altogether different picture to the horrible losses suffered weeks before.
Last but not least, we were able to assist a young lady who has been trying desperately to get a job for the last 3 years, making more than 100 applications she finally had an offer of work, though it means leaving her beloved Nepal and traveling to United Arab Emirates where she will be an assistant teacher. She was thrilled about the offer but was desperate for essential everyday suitable clothing and personal care items that she could not afford to buy. Through your giving she was able to accept this offer of work and buy the items she needed. We are looking forward to hearing how her life and the life of her family is transformed by her new job.
I’m sure you will all agree… this is putting James 2.14-17 into practice!
Please continue to pray! I have been invited to meet with The Second Secretary of the Nepal Embassy in London, they are pleased to hear of our heart and support for Nepal and he would like to hear more about us and our work. Please pray that we receive favour from the government of Nepal as we endeavor to serve their people by showing the love of Christ in this practical way.
Please continue to give your financial support to this growing work, we are a fledgling organisation and our resources are tiny but we serve a God with limitless resources and we look to Him, whilst appreciating the part you play. Remember… no amount is too small and regular monthly giving can be so easy and yet so very effective for those in desperate need.
